Destiny servers going down today for server maintenance, could last six hours
Bungie has announced Destiny's servers will be taken down later today for maintenance and could last several hours.
Bungie has announced Destiny servers will be going offline for maintenance today and could be down for up to six hours.
The maintenance will start today at 8am PDT, and if it lasts as long as Bungie expects it to, Guardians will be unable to play Destiny until 2pm PDT. While this could be a devastating amount of time offline for some players, it shouldn’t affect the majority of players who work, go to school, or partake in other activities during the day.
Bungie didn’t offer any explanation for the downtime, although in their original message, they followed up their announcement by saying “Future plans!” If we had to make a guess, we’d say the downtime has something to do with preparations for The Taken King.
Spread the word. Destiny will be offline for maintenance tomorrow, starting at about 8AM PDT. Downtime could last for 6 hours. Future plans!

If you haven’t experienced this kind of downtime in Destiny before, might we suggest going out and getting some fresh air during that time, respond to emails, or enjoy the great indoors by watching the new season of Orange is the New Black?
