Nvidia Shield Android TV Gets 1.2 Update
The Shield Android TV, Nvidia's flagship entertainment device, received a big update this morning. Details for the 1.2 software update range from improved streaming performance to additional apps.
This morning, the Nvidia Shield Android TV received a big software updated. Software Upgrade 1.2 brings a host of additional feature, apps and games to the entertainment device.
Upgrades Include:
- Sharing pictures in 4K on Ultra HD TVs with the Photos & Videos app
- Delivering enhancements for SD card auto-move setting
- Optimizations to streaming experience for Google Play Movies and Netflix
- Shield Accessories Upgrade for Shield Remote for better response
- Adds notifications for low battery on Shield Remote
- Delivers enhancements for NVIDIA GameStream (requires update to GeForce Experience v2.25 beta or later)
New Apps:
- Fox Sports Go - Watch live sports like the FIFA Women’s World Cup or the U.S. Open
- EPIX - Instantly stream thousands of Hollywood hit movies, concerts and comedy specials
- CBS News - Watch CBSN, the new 24-hour digital news network from CBS News
- CBS Sports - Watch CBS Sports content for NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA, Golf and more
Both EPIX and CBS news support the cross-app search function.
Apps expected to release in the near future include: HBO Now, HBO Go, Fox News, Fox Now, FX Now, Qello, Twitch, UFC, USA Today, Vimeo, Vudu and WWE.
