Fallout 4 release date pegged for October 23, according to GameStop

According to a listing on GameStop Italy, Fallout 4 may be releasing this October.

GameStop Italy has listed Fallout 4 for an October 23 release.

Bethesda announced Fallout 4 yesterday along with its debut trailer and was tentatively listed for a 2015 release. With GameStop Italy listing Fallout 4 to release on October 23, this certainly adds a bit more fuel to the fire.

October 23 lands on a Friday, and even though the majority of game releases take place on Tuesdays, it isn’t completely out of the realm of possibility. A number of companies have released games on a Friday in North America, the most recent being Nintendo’s Splatoon.

Bethesda will reveal more about Fallout 4 at this year’s E3 where it will be holding its first-ever E3 Showcase. Whether or not they’ll reveal the game’s official release date is unknown at this time, but we’re sure a lot of people will be keeping their eye on the showcase for more Fallout 4 info.

That seems crazy soon, but I like a announcement quickly followed by release. That'd be awesome.

The trailer was a lot more substantial and complete-looking than the Fallout 3 teaser was. I'd only find a release date this year to be mildly surprising.

I dont think it will happen that quickly but would be insanely awesome if true. I wish more big games were announced/marketed/released in that kind of schedule. The trend of a 1+ year marketing campaign with teaser trailers, trailers, weekly interviews, etc needs to stop :(

yeah but everything is pointing to 2015 (including Bethesda's own pages), so October or November are likely.

Oct 23, 2077 was the start of the Great War in Fallout lore: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Great_War

So it would be a likely candidate!

How are the hardware cycles looking for upgrades - good time to do it, or wait a bit longer? I'm far overdue for beefing up my mobo/proc/vid card. GTA5 has almost pushed me, while Fallout4 will seal the deal.

Definitely wait, october is a good while away. There is no reason to upgrade now in preparation for fallout 4 instead of a few weeks before it actually releases, especially If the october 23 release date is wrong.

My general rule of thumb is the longer you wait, the cheaper shit gets. So wait until your closer unless there's something you want now.
