Console users looking to try Metro Redux before they buy will now be able to do so and they'll get a large chunk of the game when they do.

The old adage goes, "Seeing is believing." So when Deep Silver and 4A Games talk about Metro Redux being a full-blown, 60 fps/1080p remaster and restoration of the Metro series, the natural instinct is to want to see it to believe it. And many of those would rather not spend $50 to have to see for themselves. Fortunately, they will no longer have to.

Deep Silver and 4A Games have now released demos for both Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux. They're fairly extensive, with players able to try out the first eight chapters of 2033 and the first nine chapters of Last Light. Save files can be transferred from these trial versions to their full retail counterparts, should users decide to purchase either of them.

The Metro Redux free trials are now available on Xbox One. They're currently available to PlayStation users in Europe, with PlayStation 4 owners in North America set to get them soon.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
