Star Wars fans who will be attending the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California next month will be in for quite a surprise. No, Carrie Fisher won’t be dressed up as Slave Princess Leia again. The surprise will be in the form of the official unveiling of Star Wars: Battlefront.

EA revealed it was publishing a new Star Wars: Battlefront game back at E3 2013, although since then, there hasn’t been a public showing of the game in action. Next week’s special event will be the first time the game has shown in public, leaving many fans of both Star Wars as well as the Battlefront series to mark their calendars for next month’s Star Wars Celebration, taking place between April 16 to 19.

EA also confirmed Star Wars: Battlefront will be available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC holiday 2015.

This almost makes me regret my decision to bag my trip to Celebration this year.

Good to know. I've only been to California once before and wanted to do some things there, but Mary wasn't going, and that kind of retards my interest. it was going to be me and my buddy Rob -- the guy I went to FL with a couple years ago.

DICE has hit the DLC gold mine with this franchise. Imagine this, Season Pass DLC that only lets you get 5 out of 10 planned DLC for free. DLC of DLC. DICE could probably get away with adding EXE DLC. Meaning you buy the game for $90 but in order to launch the game you have to pay a small $5 extra to actually play the game. I hope they take advantage of this opportunity because people WILL PAY IT. DICE deserves the money.
