The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt adds Ciri as a playable character
An additonal playable character will be made available in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Learn about her and her role in The Witcher lore in this story.
CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may have been hit with yet another delay just a few days ago, but today, the developer has some good news to share with us in regards to Ciri’s role in the upcoming title.
Ciri will be a playable character in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and will play an important role in the game’s lore itself as she is considered a powerful, living weapon that’s capable of both healing and destroying the world she inhabits. Geralt is tasked with finding Ciri before the Wild Hunt does. As you play, several unique skills will be gradually unlocked, such as blinking.
CD Projekt RED decided to introduce another character to The Witcher series as a way to tell parts of the story from another experience, which they’re hoping would benefit the overall experience. With Ciri as a playable character, she is able to produce a number of narrative possibilities for the team. Even though Ciri is considered a major character, she isn’t playable in the same was as Geralt is as players will be experiencing his story.

I mean, I don't actually know anything. I've read that this is a character from the books though, and that her inclusion at all might serve as some kind of spoiler.
Just the way it's been talked about makes me think that you probably have a limited time to experience the world from another character's POV, not a deal where you choose to play as one of multiple characters for the entire game. -
