Watch 15 minutes of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End gameplay
This year's PlayStation Experience kicked off with 15 minutes of gameplay for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
This year's PlayStation Experience kicked off with a first look at gameplay for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. Nathan Drake's latest adventure showed off more of the shooting, exploration, and stunning environments that the Uncharted series has become recognized for.
The presentation wasn't always pretty, with Drake falling through a piece of the map at one point, but the display was an impressive one, nonetheless. It was especially so, in light of the early disclaimer that this was all running on PS4 hardware, rather than a PC dev kit.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is expected to arrive in 2015. Check out the video below for more.

I have watched the video, damn..., Uncharted 4: A Thief´s End is hands down the most impressive game I have seen in my whole life, I am speechless.
That was truly amazing in every way possible, if I was Microsoft I go "Damn now what...". This really shows you what games can do and how much more you can push them visually, gameplay, animation, detail and just the whole scale and level of quality.
Still can not get over what I just saw that was crazy it makes that Zelda video look really bad(yes I know the Wii U is old etc) and just how far of a gap there is in game design and hardware. Not to say Zelda will end up bad I am really looking forward to it and I am sure it will own.
Incredible, this video should be on ever video game sites main page(Shack knows whats up :) ), I still can not believe how amazing that looks and plays.
Man what the hell will the PS5 be able to do? My mind is official blown.-

No game has this level of interaction, detail, complex environment and so much dynamic vegetation/items and interactive environment.
Also the scale and high poly count all with crazy high rez textures, shader effects massive dynamic particles, lighting along with a lot of animation for different gameplay. The animation it self was pretty crazy if you look at all the variations.
Also add to that area was extremely complex and detailed and not flat/normal. The AI(was very impressive) was able to react and act like the player and traverse the complicated environment. There was a lot of complex stuff in the video a shit tone of stuff running under the hood.
And then the gameplay there was a tone in there and there was a quiet a lot of complex stuff they coded in there I was really impressed it was not basic at all.
The blended cinematic fighting that interacted with the environment dynamically.
I saw too many things(a lot of subtle detail that takes effort), it was amazing to me I don't know any other game that is at this level.-
Just saw this response to the same things I asked. Yes it look amazing, except the rock walls. Let's hope they clean that up in final. But games like Operation Flash and on have had vegetation cover. It does look the best I have seen yet for that.
What would really impress me is smart AI. An enemy see something moving, and calls for backup. "Hey I think I saw a guy hanging off a cliff. Can you send a repelling team over here?

I'm sorry vulcan, can you link me a time code that will impress me vs Tomb Raider? I did not watch the whole thing, but I skipped around looking for something jaw dropping. The best thing I saw was when Drake was ducking through the shrubs to avoid detection. Yes it looked pretty, but it is not something that has not been done before.

Seriously, I got a Tomb Raider (2013) feeling right off the bat when they panned across the jaggy coastline (reminded me of the ship graveyard area in TR).
Also seeing just as many God Of War and Assassin's Creed influences.
GOW: the honeycomb texture on the wall that Nate can climb
AC: obviously sneaking through the grasses.
There's a lot more competition in the 3rd person action adventure genre now than when the first 2 Uncharteds were released. At least 6 major Assassin's Creed games for instance (and again, the latest Tomb Raider). -

I liked TR, but it didn't look that great to me. It looked like a last-gen game with a coat of paint: the models were a bit blocky, the environments were very enclosed, the lighting was not that great.
This (to me) looks much better: it's proper materials-based lighting, lots of deferred rendering effects, volumetric lights and fogging, a much more complex and dynamic environment.

This looks really good! The graphics look great, but the level design is what did it for me. They are just...expensive, and it's ever so slightly clear where to go next, but it doesn't bludgeon you with it. It's organic, but it always felt like you could go anywhere. It doesn't feel like a faux hallway guiding you forward like many of the earlier games. The lack of UI is also pleasant. It's clear, though that they got quite a few ideas for the latest Tomb Raider, namely the climbing with tool. (pick axe vs spike)
Getting a PS4 for this.
