Jack the Doppelganger joins Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on November 11

Gearbox has released the first downloadable character for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. It's Handsome Jack................'s clone.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel was largely built on the premise of witnessing Handsome Jack build his empire. Yet players weren't given the opportunity to play as the megalomaniacal genius. That's all about to change... sort of.

Gearbox Software announced at this weekend's PAX Australia event that Handsome Jack Jack the Doppelganger would join the playable roster for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel as a DLC character. As his name implies, he is actually a clone of Handsome Jack. He brings Jack's ambition to the table, as well as some unique attacks.

Jack's Action Skill is called Expendable Assets, which summons two other Digi-Jack clones to fight alongside him. His skill tree abilities include 'The Hero of This Story' (a tanking tree set that adds grenade buffs), 'Greater Good' (a co-op tree that adds 'Fight for Your Life' buffs to all players), and 'Free Enterprise' (a skill tree that buffs weapons in different ways).

Jack the Doppelganger will come to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 11 with purchase of the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Season Pass. He won't be the last character to join the roster, as Gearbox plans to include another character, a level cap upgrade, and a whole new campaign in subsequent Season Pass updates. Those that have not purchased the Season Pass can also pick this new character up a la carte for $9.99.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

He's actually not a clone but a body double surgically altered to look and sound exactly like Jack. There are a bunch of ECHOs in Jack's Office that cover the backstory.

They also said one of the other DLC's is going to have a bigger score the Tiny Tina's from BL2 and it was going to be a pure campaign DLC

It really is, but I think they put that in there to keep you from buttslamming all the time/everywhere.

I don't even think they consume oxygen, only the double jumps and breathing do.

Is it buggy on that for you? In the GT review they mentioned that when using the freeze mechanic (or was it gun?) a lot of issues occured

I likeit - it forces you to move forward and find O2 or kill stuff. Plus the last part of the game has a lot of great mechanics with o2 and weightlessness.

The second play through is quite funny as the narration changes. It's being re-told to Brick and Tiny with the obvious hilarity that causes.
