Bethesda has brought a new Battlecry trailer to PAX Australia, along with the announcement that the game's beta would debut in the Oceania region first.

Bethesda has brought some of their best games to this year's PAX Australia. Among them is their 3rd person gun-less free-to-play multiplayer action game, Battlecry. The team released a new trailer during the event, while also offering some new details on the game's beta.

The trailer offers a small taste of the game's animated environments, characters, and melee attacks. The trailer's release is accompanied by a Bethesda announcement that the beta would open exclusively in Australia and New Zealand.

Battlecry has appeared impressive in its limited showings, though there's still plenty of time left in the game's ample development cycle. No word on how long the beta's exclusivity period will last, but expect the beta to also hit North American and European shores in 2015, just as soon as it does battle down under.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

If you've ever used the axe or sword in tf2 with the demoman this is what the battlecry gameplay is like, it's horrible. You just dance around and through your opponent.

Which was a fun, janky novelty at the time for TF2.

An entire game like that? No thanks.

Yep. Crytek wasn't built for melee combat.
