Hyrule Warriors 'Master Quest Pack' adds Epona on October 16
Nintendo has offered a date for Hyrule Warriors' first DLC pack and has revealed that it will add Epona to the game for horseback action.
Hyrule Warriors is out today and now that Link and crew are ready to defend the kingdom from the forces of evil, Nintendo is looking to add a few more weapons to their arsenal. With that in mind, they've announced the Master Quest Pack, which will hit on October 16.
Producer Eiji Aonuma was mostly mum on any specific contents of the Master Quest Pack, but did note that one major addition would be Link's trusty steed, Epona.
Some of you may be surprised to hear that Epona is a 'weapon,' but in Hyrule Warriors, she can team up with Link to attack enemies!" Aonuma said in a Miiverse post. "I already had a chance to try out Epona in the game. By riding Epona, I was able to blow heards of enemies away and gallop swiftly through the fields, and I had a lot of fun trying out this re-imagined version of her in Hyrule Warriors. In the Zelda series, players never had a chance to tackle bosses by galloping around them with Epona like in Hyrule Warriors, so I hope fans will enjoy playing as Zelda characters in a game with a different type of action than you typically find in the original series."
The Master Quest Pack will also add some new scenarios and costumes, though, again, specifics were not offered. Pricing was likewise not revealed. Hyrule Warriors is available now on Wii U and you can watch the Shacknews video crew plow through it today on Twitch.
