World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor does indeed have a Robin Williams character
A player has stumbled upon a lamp near the island of Talador, which will summon the memorial character in the game.
The loss of Robin Williams two weeks ago was all too soon for many of us. The 63-year old actor/comedian touched a lot of lives with his comedic gifts, and his death was truly a tragedy that still has yet to be shaken. However, Blizzard Entertainment has taken the opportunity to immortalize Williams' Genie character from Disney's Aladdin, and it looks like he's already out in the wild.
A Wowhead user by the name of Haldhur has managed to stumble across a mysterious item on an island near Talador, one of the new zomes introduced in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It's actually an "Ever-Burning Lamp," and if players interact with it, surprise, it'll summon the game's version of Williams' all-powerful Genie.
True to his character, the Genie utters, "INFINITE COSMIC POWER! Itty bitty living space," just like his movie counterpart.
In addition, a large broken egg is near the lamp, a reference to Williams' 70's sitcom Mork & Mindy. Other tributes could be included as well, but no details have been leaked just yet. Still, this is an awesome tribute to Williams, and players will no doubt be looking for his characters from hereon in. As they should be. SHAZBOT!
