While PlayStation 4 owners eagerly await their version of Minecraft to arrive, Xbox One owners won't have to wait that much longer.

Microsoft confirmed on its Xbox Wire page last night that the popular Mojang title, which has sold millions across PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, will arrive on Xbox One this Friday. The main game will sell for $19.99, although those who purchased the Xbox 360 version of the game can snag the update for a mere $4.99.

The game allows you build worlds up to 36 times larger than over on the Xbox 360, opening up a number of new possibilities. In addition, a wide variety of content will be available as DLC, and players can play online with up to eight people, or in four-player split-screen. So, yeah, get to building and stuff!

They announced a similar upgrade offer for PS3 -> PS4, at least if you bought it digitally. But I suspect that disc buyers are SOL on Xbox One as well.

Aw that sucks! Yeah I bought disc, though I did just win that $15.00 Xbox monies, so would still be $4.99 if that's the case.
