A new trailer for Assassin's Creed Unity introduces an unlikely ally for central character Argo: a female Templar named Elise.

With Assasssin's Creed Unity set to touch down in three months, Ubisoft is ready to reveal another of the game's central characters. With that in mind, it's time to meet Elise, a young woman seeking to rise through the Templar order and one of main character Arno's most unlikely allies.

The video below offers an introduction to this new character, as Elise finds herself at the wrong end of the guillotine. Sensing injustice about to go down, Arno comes to her rescue, leading to a partnership that will span across the French Revolution. It's a fairly notable addition to the cast, coincidentally coming in the wake of Ubisoft coming under fire for not featuring enough central female characters in this latest AC installment.

Assassin's Creed Unity will hit PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on October 28.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

How long until in-game graphics look like this? 10 years? 15?
