With Guardians of the Galaxy releasing in theaters next week and San Diego Comic-Con getting ready to kick off this week, it only makes sense that Disney would finally take the wraps off of its (heavily leaked) Guardians of the Galaxy playset for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes.

The GotG playset follows Star-Lord and his crew just after they've stolen a cosmic object from Ronan the Accuser. They arrive at Knowhere with Ronan and his Sakaaran fleet hot on their tails, and have to protect the land from him while also keeping the MacGuffin away from him. This is probably another Infinity Gem, since the Marvel movies have been hinting heavily in that direction.

All five Guardians are playable: Star-Lord, Rocket, Drax, Gamora, and Groot. Iron Man and Nova can also be brought in as crossover characters in the GotG playset. You'll run into Cosmo, The Collector, and Yondu as quest-givers. The GotG crew can also be used in one of the structured Toy Box modes, called Attack on Asgard, which has Marvel characters protecting against Frost Giants summoned by Loki.

The set will be available in the fall.
