Battlefield Hardline delayed to early 2015
EA is delaying another one of their marquee fall titles and this one will hurt a little more, with Battlefield Hardline getting pushed back all the way to early 2015.
As long as Electronic Arts is on the subject of product delays, the publisher has also announced the delay of another marquee franchise and this one might hurt just a little more. Battlefield Hardline will not make its projected October release date and will, in fact, not even make 2014 at all. It's now set to release in early 2015, with Visceral Games citing fan feedback from the game's early closed beta as the reason.
"This feedback also spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better," states the Battlefield Blog. "The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would need more time. Time that we didn't have if we decided to move forward with launching in just a couple of months."
Visceral will focus on refining Hardline's multiplayer, adding new single-player elements, and improving the game's overall stability in the coming months.

Pretty much. This wasn't a game that could compete with CoD. I doubt that the couple of months could change that significantly. The idea did seem like a mod--not a full blown game. From the beta and trailers, the mechanics, graphics, weapon handling, level feel, playstyles, etc were all too familiar. Nothing about what they showed seemed awesome and must have. It even seemed smaller in scope and (personally) less fun than BF4, so it just seems like a hard sell even on sale.
Still I hope the delay and time between now and then helps them reverse that and give the game some much-needed identity.

That will probably be just as broken as BF4 was when it shipped. I played a little just last week and it still has the same damn bugs that pissed me off. I CAN play but I get killed by people with full health that I shot at and got hit markers, I get heat seekers that randomly jam and just don't fire despite a lock on.
I wish DICE made more reliable games.
