Dynamic weather coming to H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2
The conditions for H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2 are about to get a little hairier, with SOE President John Smedley indicating that dynamic weather is coming to both H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2.
Sony Online Entertainment has been dabbling in open worlds for several years, but these vast playgrounds are about to receive an extra degree of realism. Both H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2 are expected to receive dynamic weather in the near future, which will include overcast clouds, rain, and even snow.
A new behind-the-scenes video for H1Z1 scratches the surface of what players can expect, showing a walkthrough of the official E3 2014 demo. Among the topics during the 11-minute video is the dynamic weather system that will affect player vitality, vehicle handling, and the visual effect it will have on the surrounding world.
Further expanding on this idea is a recent Twitter post from SOE President John Smedley, who revealed that snow will also be among the elements included for both H1Z1 and PlanetSide 2.
Shacknews has reached out to SOE, with a representative indicating that more details on dynamic weather for both games will be revealed in the next few weeks.
