Steam reaches 8 million concurrent users
Steam hit a new milestone over the weekend, reaching 8 million concurrent users.
PC distribution platform Steam hit 8 million concurrent users over the weekend, breaking its previous record of 7.5 million set over Christmas. This spike coincides with the currently-running Summer Sale, which probably accounts for the increase in activity.
The stats page (via Polygon) shows just when it hit the mark. Around noon on June 29, it hit 8,020,813 concurrent members. The platform is trending upward in a general sense, having reached 7 million in December and 6 million before that in November 2012. It currently has more than 75 million active users.
