Destiny alpha still running for 'dangerous experiments'
The PlayStation 4 alpha for Destiny is still alive and kicking, past its supposed expiration date.
Update: Bungie has clarified that the alpha is testing in "Expert Mode" to prepare for the upcoming beta.
The PlayStation 4 alpha for Destiny was set to expire last night at the stroke of midnight, like some kind of video game Cinderella story. Instead, though, it's still running just fine. We just don't know quite how long that will last before it turns into a pumpkin.
"There's a rumor that the #Destiny Alpha might be extended to allow dangerous experiments," Bungie tweeted. "Play beyond the official close at your own risk!"
The alpha still ran just fine as of this morning, and nothing about it seemed particularly dangerous. If we had to guess, we'd say that continuing to play it at this point runs the risk of wiping out whatever character you created, or just dashing your hopes if it suddenly stops working whenever Bungie really does decide to pull the plug.
