Shacknews plays Lucky's Tale and Alien: Isolation on Oculus Rift at E3 2014

The Shacknews video crew has been busy at this year's E3, but there was one spot that they couldn't miss. The video team's Andrew Zucosky and Sam Leichtamer headed over to check out the Oculus Rift and talk to Lucky's Tale developer Paul Bettner. After that, it was time to talk aliens. More specifically, it was time to talk Alien: Isolation.
For those unfamiliar with Lucky's Tale, Bettner describes it as a third-person adventure game designed exclusively for virtual reality.
As for Alien: Isolation, it proves to be every bit as frightening on Oculus Rift as it does when played conventionally.
This was Andrew and Sam's first go-around with the Oculus Rift's second development kit (DK2) and you can check out their impressions in the interview below.
And while it may be difficult to convey how Alien: Isolation plays out in virtual reality, Andrew's reaction in the video below should tell the whole story.

If I could ask one of their devs a question, I would ask how the SDK has evolved since they had started working there, and what doors has it opened up? I'm curious because the news has stated or insinuated that they are opening up OLED/LCD tech for Oculus in exchange for SDK access. If their development staff for the SDK is proportional to the "hype", then the feature set has to be growing like a weed. It would neat to know how a game developer sees the SDK growth in the last year from their perspective.

Can people tell me, do you really find this fun? Walking around , and doing NOTHING just walking, and looking, and walking, looking, walking, walking, then an alien kills you intermediately.
This is as boring as f**k
Please tell me why you think its awesome (if you like it) I'm genuinely fascinated and curious, games are just worse and worse and more and more boring as f**k. -
