Far Cry 4 players on PlayStation can invite friends that don't own the game
New Far Cry 4 footage made its way to Sony's press conference, as well as an announcement that PlayStation owners could invite their PSN friends to jump in, even if they don't own the game.
Creative director Alexander Hutchinson brought Far Cry 4 back to the stage during Sony's E3 2014 press conference, showing off the game's Kyrat region. The first of the Far Cry 4 gameplay footage took players on top of a treacherous mountain stage, showing off the deep abyss below. This was the beginning of a lengthy presentation that culminated with the announcement that PlayStation owners of Far Cry 4 could send invites to their PSN friends, even if they don't own the game.
The game's grappling system made its debut here, with the grappling hook used to get across pits and climb up to higher areas. An objective popped up, tasking the player with taking out a nearby convoy, which offered the opportunity to use a stealth crossbow and create carnage inside a nearby Jeep. While the Jeep inevitably fell off a cliff, it conveniently gave the player a chance to show off the game's wingsuit to escape and float across safely to the region of Ratu Gadhi.
This is where a second player dropped into the action, rescuing the first player with a gyro-copter and allowing for airborne mayhem. The environment could also be used for an advantage, as the two players could frigten nearby elephants into a panicked stampede that would take out any enemy in the vicinity.
Far Cry 4 is set to release in November.
