Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is going to feature a new level editor that will allow users to create their own custom stages to share with their friends.

The video below shows off many of the assets that will be used in the level editor, allowing players to lay out floor plans with cosmetic ambiance, enemies and items. Creators can then try out their own rooms before uploading them to share.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is expected to release later this year on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Vita.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

A level editor was one of the two big things missing from Hotline Miami. This is great news.

The other missing thing of course is some kind of multiplayer, but it's arguable that it wouldn't have been very good given the frantic "try-die-repeat" pace of the game.
