Before Ubisoft's E3 press conference ended, CEO Yves Guillemot approached for a "one more thing" tease. And this year it was a big one: Rainbow Six Siege. It's coming in 2015.
A 5v5 gameplay demo from a pre-alpha state featured the team scoping out a house with a hostage situation, then bursting in and mopping up the badguys. You know, as they do.
The company also confirmed to Polygon that Rainbow Six: Patriots has been canceled, calling it a "strategic decision."

Even for Ubisoft I still think the Watch Dogs thing is going to be the exception not the norm when it comes to E3 reveals not matching up to the final game. Watch Dogs reveal was done when they weren't sure of final specs and were still running everything on super high end PCs. Either way just like Watch Dogs the footage they show in the months leading up to release will most likely be what the finished game will look like. The only recent game (that I can think of) that blatantly showed bullshot screenshots and footage in the lead up to release was Colonial Marines.

Looks interesting, but they'll need to really balance this to make it work. I mean, if you can locate the hostage that easily, then you know which room. They can probably expect that you know too so why wouldn't they mostly just crowd the hostage. Later in this demo, they used her as a human shield. Why didn't do that do that before? I mean this scenario is interesting, but I've played way too much CS to know that some of this shit won't work.

*Sigh*. Another game where the entire world is constructed out of balsa wood, weapons are wrongfully portrayed as lightweight and under-powered, every gunshot wound can be instantly healed by a friend holding down the "X" button, the Police force has been incorrectly trained to cause maximum collateral damage with complete disregard for the safety of bystanders, and of course all of your friends on the Internet are professional voice actors who are also completely, passionately committed to the fantasy of the videogame scenario they are playing out.
I really can't stand Ubisoft...what a bunch of bullshit.
