Minecraft content to transfer from PS3 to PS4
Minecraft is already on PS3, but if you're holding back so you don't have to recreate everything in the PS4 version, don't worry. Mojang says the plan is to let users transfer their worlds from one to the other.
Minecraft is already on PlayStation 3, and coming to PlayStation 4 and Vita. If you're already dreading rebuilding your palatial estate and complex machinery brick by solitary brick, though, take heart. Mojang says it's planning to let you transfer content from PS3 to PS4, and possibly even to Vita.
"The plan is to enable users to transfer from PS3 to PS4," Mojang's Owen Hill said in response to fans on the PlayStation EU Blog (via Eurogamer). "We're still working out how it'll work with the Vita version."
He also said they'd be sharing news on cross-buy and upgrades sometime soon, but they're holding back because they "don't want to make false promises." As for timing, that's fairly up in the air as well. He gave a release window of "Q2/Q3," which is a pretty wide window that includes anytime by September.
