Final Fantasy 14 reaches 2 million registered users
Final Fantasy 14 has reached 2 million registered users worldwide, Square Enix announced today.
Just as Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn rolls out to PlayStation 4, Square Enix has announced that it has surpassed 2 million registered accounts worldwide.
That doesn't mean each of those accounts have paid the monthly fee to play regularly, but it's definitely a boom for the relaunch of a game that had such a rocky start. The original launch of FF14 was such a disaster that Square pulled it, had CEO Yoichi Wada issue an apology, and brought on a new creative team with some frank criticisms of their own. A Realm Reborn, by contrast, has had a largely positive reception.
The PC version was first out of the gate, followed by the PlayStation 3. The PS4 is the most recent addition, and Square is letting you upgrade from PS3 to PS4 for free until the end of the year.
