Now that NCSoft and Carbine have opened up pre-orders for its sci-fi fantasy MMORPG WildStar, the developer is taking a moment to discuss the game's variety of PvP modes in more detail. The latest developer video reveals the mode's currency, balance system, and open-world rival system that lets you kill somebody for looking at you funny.

Carbine also discusses the telegraph system that requires players to physically aim their attacks at opponents, rather than rely on auto-aiming. The developer states that this is to emphasize skills over spam and also quicken each game's pace.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Speaking of which, I used a beta key, and I'm able to play, but hasn't the head start, started already? Shouldn't it just be people who have pre ordered the game now? My beta chars are all there too.

Nope! The game launches June 3rd; the pre-order "head start" is just a few days prior to that
