Disney abandons Star Wars 1313 trademark
The trademark for Star Wars 1313 has officially expired, perhaps spelling an end to the final LucasArts-helmed Star Wars game, once and for all.
It's been no secret that Star Wars 1313 has been frozen in carbonite since Disney acquired LucasArts. But Disney may have finally Force choked away any spark of hope that this game would ever see the light of day, as they allowed the Star Wars 1313 trademark to formally lapse.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (via The Escapist) states that the trademark had been abandoned since December 23, citing that it was "abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued." As in similar cases, however, Disney can revive the trademark anytime they wish.
Though the Boba Fett-led vehicle may never take flight, fans can at least take heart knowing that the motion-capture tech will live on in future Lucasfilm productions.

I spent countless hours playing the multiplayer of that game. I ran my own server from my really crappy secondary desktop computer. It only played about 3 maps because those were the only ones I liked, lightsabers only, duel requests mandatory, lol. Loved that game. The singleplayer was hella fun as well.

Disney stated pretty quickly after the acquisition that they would not be doing any Star Wars games, just licensing out the IP. Predictably and regrettably, they put it into EA's hands - http://www.ea.com/news/ea-and-disney-team-up-on-new-star-wars-games
