The upcoming Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls, will be available on PC and Mac on March 25, Blizzard has announced. And of course, there are a few limited editions you can pick up, in addition to the standard release.

Reaper of Souls will introduce a new playable hero: the Crusader. In addition, the expansion will bump the level cap to 70, while introducing new spells and abilities for players to take advantage of. The expansion will also add a new "Adventure Mode," bounties, and "Nephalem Rifts," fully randomized dungeons that can be replayed for loot.

"With Reaper of Souls, we're taking Diablo 3 back to its darker, deadlier roots and also giving players a new way to experience the game," Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in a release.

The Standard Edition of Reaper of Souls will be available for $40, while a Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for $60. The special edition will include an exclusive helm, spectral hound minion, three additional character slots, a World of Warcraft in-game companion pet, and a set of StarCraft 2 Crusader-themed Battle.net portraits and Malthael-themed decals.

If you prefer to buy things in stores, the retail-exclusive Collector's Edition includes everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition and a hardcover art book, behind-the-scenes Blu-ray set, and a mouse pad. This will be available for $80.

If you're not interested in picking up Reaper of Souls at all, a free update near the launch of the expansion will still introduce new features to the base game, including a revamp of the game's loot system, an expanded Paragon progression system for max-level characters, and expanded social tools via Clans and Communities.

I'd hope simultaneously. I'm not saying that Blizzard would gimp the PC version just to fix it on consoles to sell more copies, but I won't miss the AH one bit. And Loot 2.0 sounds nice. If they launch simultaneously, at least everybody would start off on even footing.

As long as they iron out the wrinkles first, the Beta has some issues at the moment, particularly around the requirement to run endless rifts.
And they haven't just removed the AH, they've effectively killed trading altogether!

Does the beta test have an NDA?

"Reaper of Souls" is just about the spergiest name they could've come up with. I can't even read it without hearing Francis's double lisp in "Souls". They should just officially name it Reaper of Thoulth.
