Lara Croft made a surprise appearance in a new trailer revealed during this year's VGX. Well, mostly surprising, anyway. The trailer saw Lara dodging gunfire and various dangers before revealing Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, the next-gen remake of this year's hit game, set to come to Xbox One and PS4.

The Definitive Edition will come in full 1080p, with environments and character models fully updated for next-gen consoles, though it won't come with the 3D support currently seen in the PC version. Crystal Dynamic's Scott Amos added that all of Tomb Raider's DLC would also come included in the Definitive Edition. As the Amazon listing suggests, the package will also come with a digital art book, six outfits, and a digital comic.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is tentatively slated to release on January 28 and you can check out the trailer below.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

I'm playing it right now on pc. Every fps lost is worth it for that hair effect. It's beautiful to watch. Excellent game.

      HAHAHAHA

I read "this year's hit game" as "this year shit game". And I was like "chill out Ozzie, if you really didn't like it, there's more articulate and polite ways of saying so".

No 3D support? Bah. I wish that games would keep it. But between Assassin's Creed IV and this, it seems like it's a dying fad.

Guys, remember that Lara Croft did not live up to Square Enix's ridiculous expectations. This is an effort to recoup some of those losses.

I wouldn't call this a remake, it's simply getting the screen resolution and texture fidelity PC gamers have had since release. The game is very demanding on PC to get 60fps on Ultra settings, my PC can't handle it, and I thought my 660Ti was fairly beefy.
