NSMB U and Luigi replace Nintendoland in new Wii U Deluxe bundle

Nintendo is jazzing up the Wii U Deluxe bundle (that's the 32GB model), replacing the pack-in game Nintendoland with New Super Mario Bros. U plus its New Super Luigi U downloadable content. As that's one of the Wii U's must-buy games, hey, this switch will save you a fair chunk of change even if the price is still $299.99.

The new bundle will be in stores from November 1, entirely replacing the old Nintendoland bundle. Both NSMB U and the DLC come on one disc in the package.

If you still want Nintendoland, good news! Nintendo is slashing the price of the boxed game from November 1, down from $59.99 to $29.99.

If they could get that down to $200 I think I'd jump all over the WiiU.

I wish Nintendo had been this aggressive with the Wii U from the get-go. They probably wouldn't have as much ground to make up from a perception standpoint.

I didn't say "no ground" I said "as much". Clearly they need more games but a better pack-in and more aggressive price would have helped.

It's the best 2-5 player local game you're going to see in the next few years. Really great.

I'm looking forward to that a lot, but that's more for a dedicated crew that wants to push through all that content together. Nintendoland works more like Rockband -- good for people who are just going to be joining you for the one night, deep enough to be interesting for everyone else.

Wii Party U comes out on Friday. I'm hopeful there are some gems out of the 80 or so minigames included.

It's a good multiplayer game that makes better use of the tablet than New Super Mario Bros.

It's worth the $19 alone for Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion games. They are a riot with 5 people.

Actually, yes, it is - but pretty much only in multiplayer. The Zelda game with 2+ is great, as is the Pikmin game. Some of the others like Mario Chase and Luigi's Mansion are also good.

If you ever have people over, it's totally worth it.

And it's smart to throw Mario and his colorful friends all over the box. This way there will be no parents mistaking which box brings the Mario experience.

So true. People know Mario and friends. People don't know Nintendo Land.
