Finally, Dark Souls 2 has a date: March 11 on Xbox 360 and PS3, with the PC release to launch "shortly thereafter." Namco Bandai told us the late launch of the PC version will ensure that it is "compatible with as many specs as possible." Of course, Dark Souls now being a triple-A franchise, there are pre-order bonuses and special editions to detail. First up, every pre-order will be upgraded to the "Black Armor Edition." This version includes a special metal case that contains both the game disc and official game soundtrack. If that's not quite fancy enough for you, you can also pick up the Collector's Edition, which includes the Black Armor Edition and adds a 12" Warrior Knight figurine and an exclusive hardcover art book. Namco Bandai hasn't set a price for this version yet, but this is what it looks like:

That is too far away. How do I convince my wife (whip crack noise) to let me get a ps3 so I can play demon's souls to tide me over.

People still fall for that line?

Anyway, as long as PC gets a game that actually has PC features this time around and isn't needed to be hacked into, I can deal with a little delay.

Vague PC release date is not good news.

FROM and Bandai will get flack for that and be forced to set a date, if you really need one. I would rather have a game that is solid from the ground up, even if it comes a bit later than the rest.

Well, I can't be patient when it comes to Souls, so I guess I'll need a PS4 sooner rather than later.

        I don't think there's been any announcement of a next-gen version.

Oh, you're right. I wasn't paying attention. Hmmm. I may have to find a way to be patient after all. I'd rather my first experience not be on ancient hardware.

You do now it takes years to make a game and the development kits for the ps4 and xbox 1 are expensive and still unfinished mess that will take a long time to switch over too right?
