Jack Black and Tim Schafer are reuniting for Broken Age. The two previously worked together on Brutal Legend, one of Double Fine's most divisive works. Black played the main character, although his role has been considerably shrunken down for Schafer's latest adventure. He'll play Harm'ny Lightbeard, a part that Black calls "not very big" in a new video released by Double Fine.

Other Double Fine alums will return for Broken Age, including Jennifer Hale, Richard Horvitz, Nick Jameson, Grey Delisle, and Cree Summer.

Voice director Khris Brown called the endeavor a "kind of family reunion" for the studio, adding that "it's like a big, Thanksgiving dinner, except everything's being recorded. Here's a look at what's been recorded so far:

I really wish that this was coming to consoles. This looks really interesting.

They have done a bunch of console games, I wouldn't be surprised if they port it at some point if it sells well.

They intend to port it if it sells well enough. The engine they picked specifically for that reason (covered in a backer update).

It'll be coming to consoles, iOS and Android.

Yeah, I have a bad memory. I probably read/saw this in an update but forgot. It would be crazy of them not to do a console version because they have the experience and the engine is there.

I really wish we could have gotten a Brutal Legend 2. That was an awesome world to play around in.

Why was Brutal Legend so divisive? People hated Jack Black?

People saw previews and thought it was a God of War-type brawler, when it reality a lot of it was based around the RTS stage battles. It was still an awesome game!!!

Jack Black was pitch-fucking-perfect in his role.

It still had a lot of the GoW / Open world drive around stuff, the RTS things didn't really pop up until maybe half way through the game.

Also anyone that couldn't beat them sucks at games because they were pretty damn easy, and overall in the game there were what like 5-7 of them total? I don't remember there being that many once they do show up.

It was way before halfway, one was just about right after the demo stopped. But it was still awesome. You were the uber-powerful GOD in the stage battles, you could fly anywhere and destroy anything!

it wasn't Jack Black, he was good for the tone of the game, it was the RTS elements no one wanted or asked for from a Double Fine game. I dunno, it just failed to be fun for me.

The first part of the game where it was what I thought it was.....was really fun. Lots of was in that sentence, it makes my head hurt.

It makes my head hurt too, but I agree entirely. It's not how the RTS elements were too hard or something, they just weren't fun, whereas the rest of the game was.

I enjoyed the RTS parts :( What I got tired of was the open world aspects of collecting random shit before I could progress the story. Maybe I'm weird I guess.

yeah, it's not that there were RTS elements at all, it's that they were bad, boring RTS elements.

I think it was less the RTS stuff specifically and more that the game people thought they were going to play only lasted a short while and then this entirely different game started. I bet if they had advertised the actual game direction instead of making it seem like a character action game, it wouldn't have been nearly as divisive.
