PlayStation 4 Camera will enable 'navigational voice commands'

PlayStation 4 also has its own fancy high-tech camera accessory. But unlike Xbox One, it's sold separately. Little has been shown of what the PS4 camera can do--other than some neat augmented reality stuff. According to a product listing on Amazon, the camera will offer "navigational voice commands" and "facial recognition"--two features that Microsoft has been touting with Kinect.
A Sony spokesperson confirmed to Push Square that the camera will support voice recognition, but would not go into further detail. Given the feature's omission during Sony's recent presentation of the PS4 UI, one has to wonder exactly how much functionality the Eye will offer--or if its implementation will be rudimentary at best.

They sold something like 25 million of them, which isn't "no one" but is still insignificant when you look at the number of 360 sold...
Yes, some people will buy it, but it will not see widespread support from developers.
It *could* if it's easy to port over the Kinect stuff to, but I highly doubt it will be.
I'm not even sure the Kinect 2.0 will pay off like they expect it too. Chicken before the egg, egg before the chicken. However, Microsoft has pretty well decided that every Xbox One will have a Kinect with it. Regardless if the user hooks it up or not, developers can count on 100% penetration.

I only see people complaining about Singstar being advertised as having voice commands in the menus and not actually supporting it. I can't see any mention of anyone else actually using it from the SDK.
In any case, obviously support for voice recognition is not a binary state, Sony doesn't have a lot of voice data collected to help improve the feature (which is a pretty critical form of feedback for the feature, hence Siri Beta) and haven't been doing it for very long compared to others.

On a related note, there may be official bundles w/ the camera included coming: http://www.videogamer.com/ps4/killzone_shadow_fall/news/official_ps4_console_bundles_are_on_the_way_sony_confirms.html
Seems like a super good deal - 100 Euro above a base PS4 for a camera, game, and second controller (those three items are collectively priced at 180 Euro on Amazon.fr) -
