This is what the Xbox One looks like in white. And, no, you can't have it.
Microsoft employees will receive a special version of the console that's "unique" for the team. The white console has "I MADE THIS" emblazoned by the disc drive, and will include one year of Live Gold and every first-party launch game.
First discovered by All Games Beta, employees must have worked with Microsoft as of July and must still be work there come launch time. Sorry Don Mattrick, guess you're not getting one--although you did certainly help make the system.

dust is color agnostic but at least black plastic doesn't discolor over time.

Well that's sad. That color actually makes the case more of something that looks good in the house. Instead of the current black rectangle that I'd hide.

Yeah, that's true. I was serious, but I wasn't thinking clearly about the difference between black and white.

that's a pretty pointless and wasteful thing. Why spend that money making white xbox ones when they have no intention of selling them to the public. Just give employees standard xbox ones or put some sort of plate on it.

It's a status symbol for them, kind of like the Day One edition is supposed to be for consumers. I don't mind it. Let the employees have this one. They've earned* it.

I had a friend who worked on the chip for the PS3, they gave their employees standard PS3s.

They already make a bunch of white ones as dev kits. I don't know why they don't do everything in black though if it would save money.

The color of a molded plastic shell is pretty negligible.

Ya I guess I thought the cost would be in freeing up space to do a special color and the work involved in setting up the machines for the special color. But I really have no idea how the logistics work.
