Puppeteer and Knack taking 'priority' over The Last Guardian

Sony's Japan Studio is still "earnestly" working on The Last Guardian, but its focus is currently on Puppeteer for PS3 and Knack for PS4.

One game absent from Sony's press conference at Gamescom was The Last Guardian. From the team responsible for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, the troubled game needed to be rebuilt and will only be shown when "absolutely ready."

Unfortunately for fans, it doesn't appear that time will be coming soon. Team Ico head Fumito Ueda recently told Famitsu that games like Puppeteer and Knack "are taking priority right now" at Sony's Japan Studio.

Don't knock these two games for taking the spotlight. We quite like Puppeteer, and Knack is clearly important to Sony being one of the few exclusive PS4 games at launch. And, Ueda admits that his game is still "under earnest development," according to a Polygon translation.

The game was rumored to be on hiatus. However, Sony WWS head Shuhei Yoshida said earlier this summer that "the game is in active development."
