Blizzard teases Diablo 3-related 'Reaper of Souls'
A teaser site has gone up for a Diablo 3-related project titled "Reaper of Souls."
Blizzard has opened a teaser site for a Diablo 3-related project, titled "Reaper of Souls." Though the site is bare-bones for now, it certainly implies some kind of Diablo announcement on the horizon.
The Reaper of Souls site simply says, "Death, at last, shall spread its wings over all," apparently a passage from the Book of Tyrael.
We know that a Diablo 3 expansion has been in development since at least this time last year, and Blizzard has mentioned some kind of announcement being readied for Gamescom. Whatever the Reaper of Souls might be, we'll know soon enough, and then have to see what that means for the impending console versions.

Somewhat agree but I will pick this up w/o a doubt. The way I look at it is that every patch does make the game feel more like a proper Diablo instead of some spinoff of the ip. Jay leaving Diablo 3 was the absolutely best thing that could have happened to the game. Nothing against the man, but he just didn't understand Diablo gameplay.
IMO if they would just get rid of the damn auction house or at the very least make a AH free server, that would be perfect. -

I always thought that would be cool. Years ago when I used to daydream about what D3 would be, I assumed it would be an MMO and that you would choose a side -- Heaven or Hell. You'd have Heaven trying to purge everything, humans and demons and everything in between. Hell would be trying to consolidate its hold on Sanctuary and the Prime Evils would be everyone's enemy.

I feel like people forget how different Diablo 2 was after an expansion and significant patching from its initial version.
Assuming this expansion means new classes and areas, lots of new gear, and at least a few new itemization-related changes (like runewords or something similarly customizable), I'm totally psyched.-
I was completely disappointed with D2 following D1. I had high hopes, and was somewhat disappointed, and quit after a few months. Following LoD and particularly after one of the patches (can't remember which anymore) the game became the addictive success that we all remember.
I hope the same happens here. While a couple things can't be fixed (Diablo should hardly speak...Terror is usually silent, for instance), the gameplay itself is great, and if the itemization can be worked out and reliance on the AH be limited, then maybe it can get closer to where it should be. -
I hear this a lot and it always confuses me, but I guess it's because it usually comes from the fanboys.
D2 loot was obtained easily when it released, loot in D3 wasn't. D2 was also easier to play and your character was more overpowered.
Yet people keep repeating that same statement. Even Blizzard admitted they intended it to be harder to get loot because they wanted people to go to the AH. Loot = Diablo
