Cliff Bleszinski, best known for his work on the Gears of War series, left Epic Games last year to work on something new. And whatever he's working on, it appears he's ready to start showing it off.
"Here's a sneak peek at something I'm working on that has been cropped," he tweeted.
Whatever Bleszinski's new project is, it's likely to be a departure from his previous work. When he announced his departure from Epic, he noted that he's "grown up" now, adding he didn't want "the whole chainsaw gun to be my legacy."
"Moving forward I would hope to work on something new and fresh and redefine my legacy. Stephen Spielberg didn't want to be known for just E.T. so he made a lot of different kinds of things," he told G4.

It is, as long as it wasn't stealth-canned. The original head of that was Lee Perry, but he left Epic in 2012, leaving Tanya Jessen to lead it. I think it might have gotten some press time at GDC, but nothing since then. It's a game I'm not going to buy since it combines so many elements I don't like (tower defense, microtransaction potential), but it's become almost irrelevant in the gaming news scene, since it's a 2011-era fad that was left in the oven too long.
I don't know if Epic even has a studio anymore. If they're keeping quiet because they habe a big project in the skunk works, they should have some studio heads interview with gaming sites to prove their existence. Otherwise, I guess they're making Unreal Engine 4, which almost no megapublisher is going to license since they wanted to stop paying the Unreal tax and run on tech that they acquired. -

Creative direction and design are the building blocks for the games industry. Try not to squash this guys accomplishments. He may not be the most articulate guy, but his leadership in design and made some really fun games that defined the industry for the last console generation; whether we like it or not.
