Grand Theft Auto 5 trailer finally shows off some gameplay
Rockstar has finally released a bit of gameplay for its upcoming return to Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto 5. Previously, all we had seen is some well-crafted pre-rendered footage of protagonists Michael, Franklin and Trevor as they went about their chaotic lives.
Rockstar has finally released a little bit of gameplay for its upcoming return to Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto 5. Previously, all we had seen is some well-crafted pre-rendered footage of protagonists Michael, Franklin and Trevor as they went about their chaotic lives.
The narrated video, billed as an introduction to the game world, shows off snippets of play and a look at some of the driving and weapon mechanics in the game, and some of the interaction between the lead characters.. It also gives a glimpse of actually planning out missions, as well as some side distractions, such as playing tennis and golf, hunting animals, and bounty hunting. You can even do some stock trading or dabble in real estate.
The end of the video teases Grand Theft Auto Online multiplayer, which will have more details coming "soon."
The game is scheduled to come out on September 17 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and will require an install on both consoles. Which character's powers will you be taking advantage of?

2015, Windows 8.1 required, now it requires a Steam account a Games for Windows Live account, a Rockstar Social club account, an Origin account for good measure and saves only write to the cloud.
Big picture mode incompatible and it's still got utterly shit controls like the current PC version of GTA4
It's a win win!-

This is so wrong it hurts. Maybe your PC is not up to snuff? 60+ FPS on my PC at 2560x1440 vs sub 30 FPS at 540p on consoles.

You are right some of us will probably buy it for the console, but I don't like being forced to do so because of uncertainty of a PC port. Chances are I will likely get the PC version again at some point for the GTA4 and SA style mods that will likely crop up.

yeah I guess there are a lot of fanboys for it but I've never really cared. the past games I crash stuff for a few weeks then never play them again. I'd be plenty happy with SR4 and waiting a year to play GTA5 on a modern system.

gta4? wasn't long at all. i didn't do every optional side quest and task, but the main game probably only took me ~ 25 hours.

I beat GTA IV mulitiple times, in fact I've beaten it on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Yeah I bought it 3 times, sue me. :) This GTA V though easily game of the year for 2013, looks amazing, I had already pre-ordered the special limited ultimate edition (whatever they are calling the most expensive one) before this trailer, and I can't wait for the midnight launch of this. Going to be awesome.

I'll admit when it first came out I had no intention of buying it so many freaking times, but then the expansion/dlc packs came out on Xbox 360 like a year before the PS3 and then I got a PC that could actually run the damn thing so I got it for the lovely mods. Though granted I am a big fan of the GTA series I actually think San Andreas and Vice City are the best ones.

GTA4 was one of only a handful of games that I've never finished to completion. It stand with illustrious company such as Krusty's Fun House for the NES.
The game just dragged on towards the middle/end. Most missions were similar to previous missions and the whole friends/gfs thang didn't draw me in as much as I hoped.

GTA IV had tons of stuff removed compared to San Andreas. I didn't finish it because of the annoying restarts after failing a certain mission. Plus I didn't care much for the setting.

ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzz. No point of interest that stands out. Over produced gta 4 mod. They could have won if they made the buildings destructible or by showing off some real improvements to the PCE (physics code engine). If I'm sitting in a meeting with rockstar, I'm throwing out something like "show me godilla in liberty city," yeah? I would say, show me an earthquake or tsunami in vinewood. Move me! interest me!

That said, after seeing Carmageddon and Tsunami I would love to see a natural disaster in GTA. Still, I guess that's what mods are for.
