NBA 2K14 debuts Euroleague Basketball teams
2K Sports has struck a multi-year deal with Euroleague Basketball and will bring European teams to the NBA 2K series, starting with NBA 2K14.
While the most exciting action is mostly found in the NBA, basketball is an international sport that transcends our country's borders. Europe has a thriving basketball league and 2K Sports has announced a multi-year partnership with Euroleague Basketball, bringing European teams to NBA 2K14 and beyond.
"We're absolutely delighted to welcome top Euroleague teams into the NBA 2K series," said Jason Argent, Senior Vice President of Sports Operations at 2K, in a release. "European basketball has an incredibly passionate following, and we're all excited to give fans the opportunity to take on Europe's best in NBA 2K14."
The 14 teams making their way to NBA 2K14 are Alba Berlin, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Montepaschi Siena, Fenerbahçe Ülker Istanbul, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Olympiacos Piraeus, Panathinaikos Athens, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Zalgiris Kaunas, Unicaja Málaga, and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria.
Last year's NBA 2K13 brought together dueling Team USA's, but this year's game is the first to feature international teams since NBA Live 10. NBA 2K14 will be available on October 1 on Xbox 360 and PS3, with Xbox One and PS4 versions coming later in the year.
