Indies highlighted in PlayStation Store for Vita
PlayStation Vita has a new dedicated indie section, kicking off with the release of Hotline Miami.
Sony launched a devoted Indie Games category for PlayStation 3 last month, and now it has followed up with one for the Vita. It headlined with the release of Hotline Miami yesterday, and Sony boasts 50 indies currently in development.
Among the upcoming ones listed on the PlayStation.Blog include Spelunky, Terraria, Flower, Luftraisers, Hohokum, and Counter-Spy. Naturally, already-released indie games like Guacamelee! and Thomas Was Alone have been sorted into the category as well.
"At PlayStation, we're proud to support indie development, and our unrestrictive policies make it easier than ever for developers to launch games on PS Vita," the blog states. "We recognize that the unique perspective that indie developers deliver contributes to the success and future of the gaming industry. And we've learned as much from working with talented indie developers over the last several years as (we hope) they have learned from us."
