Super Mario 3D World coming to Wii U on December 13

Nintendo Direct has unveiled Super Mario 3D World, featuring four-player co-op and Cat Mario

The newest 3D Mario has been unveiled for Wii U and it's a follow-up to Super Mario 3D Land. Super Mario 3D World will feature the same type of 3D/2D mixture that Mario's handheld adventure featured, but will also feature four-player co-op. You'll be able to play as Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach. It's set to arrive on December 13.

And it wouldn't be a Mario game without new suits, as we got to check out Cat Mario for the first time.

  Whoa! That looks like a lot of fun! Super Mario 3D Land is one of the best games I've played in the past couple years. This looks like a cross between New Super Mario brothers and that! Should be amazing.

  How is this different than the 3d land or new super mario brothers games. I would have thought with 'world' in the title, it would have a sprawling overworld map like SMW.

    Same here... but I think it is. I liked 3D land but it wasn't close to either of the Galaxy games.
    
    I was really hoping for something mind blowing like Galaxy.

  Lol, the differing opinions in this thread. Personally, I'm glad that they're trying something somewhat new then just make another Galaxy. I loved 3D Land and it looks like i'll love this game, too. It looks like it's the US SMB2 thrown into a 3D world, and I am all about that.
