Kalypso Media, publisher of Tropico 4, has announced another strategy-sim game coming to PC this October. Titled Rise of Venice, this game has you go from humble trading to building a large fleet of merchant ships in Renaissance Europe. All the while, though, you'll have to deal with the political strife and competing merchants.

Your trading empire will eventually stretch across Genoa, Tripoli, Rome, Alexandria, and Constantinople. You'll interact with your own family members to grow your business as they take on missions, and you'll take part in sea battles when things get rougher. It also promises multiplayer for up to four over LAN or online.
