Mirror's Edge 2 help page appears on EA site, promptly vanishes
A help page for "Mirror's Edge 2" briefly appeared on EA's official site, lending more credence to the rumors that an announcement is coming.
The evidence is steadily building for an impending Mirror's Edge 2 announcement. Just a week after we saw the game listed on a German retailer, EA itself seems to have let word slip with the brief appearance of a help page on the company's official site.
The help page, caught by NeoGAF users and captured (above) in screenshot form by our own Alice O'Connor, shows the title plain as day. It doesn't shed any light on details like platforms, but that does seem to all-but confirm the sequel. As NeoGAF user "ekim" points out, replacing the URL with terms like "mass-effect-4" and "fifa-15" doesn't work, so EA isn't in the habit of making help pages for unannounced games. The page was later pulled. That makes three spottings so far, after Amazon Germany, and later, a pulled Amazon Italy listing for Xbox One.
It seems likely that an announcement is imminent, possibly at E3 in two weeks. If so, look surprised. Shacknews has contacted EA regarding the help page, and will update as more information becomes available.

It's the period between Judges Week and E3, so I'm not surprised to see 'bargo busting via accidental website testing in production.
So what would a Mirror's Edge 2 be? I like the idea of "Star Wars Jedi Forcewalker: Mirror's Edge 2", as the Old Republic fiction would remove all guns... but the Monty Pythonian view would be "Battlefield 4: Mirror's Edge 2: WITH MORE GUNS!!!"
Cue the "No comment" responses from EA, only to bombastically "reveal" it at E3. I hope for their sake the title is intrinsically good enough to not get booed off the virtual stage a la XCOM 2010. -

I don't think they'll change their position; classic "Not Invented Here" move. Also, I don't see the new EA CEO being more accommodating than Riccitiello, because this new CEO's first and highest priority is to hit the quarterly numbers and appease shareholders. He isn't going to be able to do that while trying to play nice with Valve, and shareholders won't like the idea of EA giving Valve money if there isn't a massive revenue opportunity.

Really hope to see a good stealth mechanic in this game. Loved the first game, but hated crossing that magical line in the level and then the enemies show up out of nowhere and know exactly where you are. When you're outmanned and outgunned like that, stealth would be the perfect complement to the parkour action.
