Batman: Arkham Origins takes place early into the career of the caped crusader. According to developer WB Montreal, Origins will show off a "rawer, scarier Batman." So, of course they got the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog to play Batman this time around. (We're not kidding.) Although longtime Batman actor Kevin Conroy voiced the Dark Knight in the first two Arkham games, WB Montreal wanted a younger sounding voice for Origins. They turned to Roger Craig Smith, who actually does sound quite a lot like Conroy in Origins. Yes, although he is probably best known as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, he's also the voice of Chris Redfield from Resident Evil and Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed. That man has range. However, there's a casting even more surprising than Batman's. The Joker returns in Origins, and like Batman, WB Montreal wanted to cast a younger, more spry actor for the role. Donning the purple suit this time around is Troy Baker, voice of Booker DeWitt from BioShock Infinite and Joel from The Last of Us. Although he's been typically cast as gruff heroes, he pulls off a remarkable Mark Hamill impersonation for Origins. (Fun fact: Baker also did voice work in Arkham City as Harvey Dent and Robin.)

It's a prequel, so Joker's feeling pretty healthy
