Double Fine has released a free game on the eve of the Game Developers Choice Awards. Host Master Deux: Quest for Identity chronicles studio head Tim Schafer's tribulations as he makes his way to host the upcoming show.
The free title is a sequel to the original Host Master released in 2009, when Schafer last hosted the awards. In this installment, he attempts to prove his identity to a surly guard so he can get on with his hosting duties.
You can play the game for free at the Double Fine site. An accompanying blog post notes that this game was created by Benedikt Hummel and Marius Fietzek, the latter of whom is involved in the newly titled Broken Age. The blog also teases that the GDC Awards will play host to some Double Fine "shenanigans," and shenanigans are really the best we hope for out of awards shows.

Marius is also the guy who made the "I wonder what will happen in Tales of Monkey Island" shorts while the Telltale Monkey Island games were coming out. They all can be seen on his youtube channel here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD30A637069EBC02C
