DuckTales Remastered coming to PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U
The classic world of DuckTales is coming back in a brand new game.
The classic world of DuckTales is coming back in a brand new game. DuckTales Remastered is being developed by WayForward Technologies and will be published by Capcom. It will be available for download this summer on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and eShop for Wii U for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).
The "Remastered" game is a full HD remake of the classic 2D NES game. Polygon reports that the game will feature hand-drawn sprites running around in a 3D world. In addition to new visuals, the game will have a remastered soundtrack and a new tutorial.
"We'll have so much more to show in the months ahead," Capcom posted on its official blog. "Including the game's new controls, additional areas, a Duckburg museum to track your progress, remixes of some of the most classic videogame music of all-time, and my personal favorite... A MONEY BIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SWIM IN!"
To much delight of longtime fans of the Disney series, the surviving voice talent from the show will be reunited for the game. Alan Young, the voice of Scrooge McDuck will be reprising his role. "We're literally pouring our heart and soul into this title," said Capcom's Rey Jimenez. "It's going to play just like you remember."

The NES game was quite different. It was made during this brief window when Capcom and Disney worked closely together to make very high quality NES games. DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, and Rescue Rangers were among them, and stand toe to toe with some of the best games of that era.

As cool as the gameplay and song was, this to me was more about how awesome Tim Schafer is. He successfully overshadows the whole video using only a [jokingly?] mean quote. Also, its sad to think this is as close as we might ever see him and Doug TenNapel's name together in something. Can you imagine a game with the wit and talent of those two at the helm?

Awesome!
Also a perfect time to post a related video:

While nothing has been locked in, Jimenez said that the work Capcom put into getting approval from Disney to remaster the game could lead to future remastered releases of other classic Capcom-Disney projects. Those games include classics like Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck and Aladdin.

If your masculinity is so fragile that you can't dare be seen appreciating a remake of a classic NES game, then that's on you, not the game. People like you are the reason game publishers pump out one completely generic first person shooting testosterone-fest after another, afraid to show any signs of whimsy or kid-friendlyness. It's to the point where games are so self-serious that the concept of Fun is slowly spiraling down the toilet.
But hey man, that's just my opinion.
Also, FYI, the music is the theme song to the cartoon.
