Rage tool kit available today
The Rage tool kit will be available later today on Steam. The 35 GB download includes the idStudio, tutorials, game maps and assets.
The long-awaited tool kit for Rage is coming today, id Software has announced. The whopping 35 GB of mod kit includes idStudio, tutorials, and a variety of game maps and assets to get you started making your own content for the 2011 title.
The kit will be available on Steam later today, but in the meantime the Bethesda Blog has released a FAQ (PDF). It covers the basics and some possible technical problems you may run into.
Don't expect your modding progress to be quick and painless, though. "Doing significant work will require patience, because internally we use a 300 core renderfarm for megatexture creation," id's John Carmack said on Twitter.

Heh, the render farm quote brings back memories of the SGI Origin 2000 that they used to compile maps for Q2 and Q3: http://games.slashdot.org/story/00/07/22/1449256/id-auctioning-off-sgi-that-created-q2-and-q3a

The DLC takes place in the first wasteland.
If you have a save from the end of the game, you can continue after the ending, go back to Wellspring and run the Scorchers missions.
If you don't have a save, you can restart and just do the new missions after you do the mission or two that always start the game (maybe some extra stuff if you need money, I don't know).
If you liked Rage, you'll like the DLC.

Aaaand there it is! Time to clear the shite out of one my HDs - hope I can install it to a directory outside Steam, like other Steam games can be, now. Might have to reinstall the main game out of my bloated Steam dir as well, probably. Not even gonna bother starting the DL of this beast until it's time to go to bed, later...
