Sony launches browser-based PlayStation Store
Sony has launched the Sony Entertainment Network store, a browser-based store front that lets you purchase PlayStation Store content from your PC.
The days of waiting until you get home to purchase items from the PlayStation Store are over. Sony has finally launched its browser-based Sony Entertainment Network store, letting you pick up games and add them to your list of purchases from anywhere.
Purchasing content on the store front will add it to your "My Downloads" column in the PlayStation Store interface, so you can download it for PlayStation 3 or Vita at your leisure. It doesn't auto-download, but at least this way you won't miss a sale price by being away from your system. You can also purchase entertainment content like movies or TV episodes and watch them on your PC, or Xperia devices. The store has recently added PayPal functionality to wallet funds as well.

As usual, a day late and a dollar short. No support for mobile browsers. If I'm away from my console, I'm likely going to be away from my computer as well, unless I have a work computer, right? It would have been smart for Sony to release a PS Store App alongside the web store for their MANY MOBILE DEVICES, considering they have a ton of other apps for their Xperia-branded phones and tablets as well as iOS devices. I can actually log in to Xbox.com on my smartphone and make purchases on Xbox Live...it's a bit awkward due to the browser being slow, but it works. I'm happy to see the PS Store finally become available online, but there's still a lot of work to do if Sony ever expects to catch up to Microsoft and Live.
