Grand Theft Auto 5 bigger than Red Dead, San Andreas, and GTA4 combined

Rockstar wasn't kidding when it said Grand Theft Auto 5's Los Santos will be the biggest world they've created in a game. In fact, according to the just-released Game Informer cover story, the world is bigger than Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto 4... combined.
There are many reasons why GTAV is so big. Rockstar head Sam Houser said he was interested in doing a proper take on Los Angeles, something the company didn't feel like it achieved with the PS2 San Andreas. And unlike previous GTA games, there's a lot of verticality to explore: whether it's the skies above the city, or the ocean below. Yes, apparently the ocean floor is fully detailed and can be explored.
Rockstar is convincingly making the argument that GTAV is big. Of course, there's that old adage: it's not just about how big it is, but what you do with it as well. For more details, check out Game Informer.

The mouse was actually better in this respect. To be even remotely decent at driving you had to manually alter the camera with the right analogue stick pretty frequently because the camera didn't do a great job of staying behind the car when you were sliding around corners.
It wasn't too bad once you got used to it, but it could certainly be improved.-
Isn't it pretty standard that chase cams follow your direction of travel rather than the angle of the car, while in-car cams of course follow the latter? Always seemed like a known part of the trade off. In-car (including hood or bumper cam) also helps judge traction and sliding better.
Fuck it's been so long I don't even remember if gta4 let you use any kind of in-car camera.

• Driving has been revamped again
• - "The cars hold to the ground a bit better." - Dan Houser
• - Feels more like a racing game
• - "There are not a lot of high-level racing games out there at the moment, and that itch is going to be scratched by this game in a way maybe it hasn't been in previous GTAs." - Dan Houser

That didn't really affect me that much as had already been through the wait for the PC versions.
The episodes bundle has gone for as little as $5 on Steam a bunch of times before, still well worth checking out especially for The Ballad of Gay Tony.
I think the most recent sale ended the other day but you could have picked it up for $5 or the entire GTA collection for $7.50, maybe someone grabbed it for future gifting and could hook you up.-

I think it works great. You get the better visuals and total choice of control method. Switching from gamepad to mouse is seamless so I'd often use the pad for driving and mouse for shooting. Mouse look for drive bys or targeting wheels to blowout or even drivers of other vehicles to stop them is invaluable. The lock-on targeting stuff in those games is absolutely terrible.
Not that the combat as a whole is that great, but free aim with a mouse and WASD for on foot / strafing is just a lot better for most annoying on-foot missions.
If I'm just screwing around or driving motorcycles it's gamepad 100% of the time.
Choice!
