Take-Two registers Links trademark
Take-Two Interactive has filed a trademark for Links, presumably to resurrect the gold series it purchased from Microsoft back in 2004.

Links was a rather prolific golf series by Access Software which began life in 1990. The last game in the series came in 2003, when Links 2003 released on the original Xbox. The franchise has been dormant since.
The trademark discovered by internet super sleuth Superannuation could open the door for a new game in the series through a new developer. It did the same thing last year with Top Spin 4, developed by 2K Czech. However, beyond the registration, there is no hint at what Take-Two would do with the series at this time.

I loved Links on my IBM PS/2 back in the early 90's. It drew the graphics on the screen like an artist filling in colors until the image was a pretty display of the golf course. The physics were really great considering the computing power at the time. But any reboot of the series would just be a new golf game that probably wouldn't compete with EA.

Time to renew my rivalry with Edgewise for best Links Shacker back when we used to get -80 or better on 4 round tournaments on XSN.
