Film production company Legendary Entertainment has found a new writer to helm its Mass Effect movie adaptation. Legendary picked relatively unknown writer Morgan Davis Foehl to head up the new draft. Foehl is said to be a fan of the game series, and has a background in writing action-espionage scripts.

Variety reports that the first draft was handled by Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend). Foehl has not had one of his scripts produced yet, but was the assistant editor on Rescue Me and I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry. He also penned Whatever Gets You Through the Night. That screenplay landed him on 2009's "Black List," a voting pool that features up-and-coming writers.

Avi Arad is still on tap to produce the film along with Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk are still listed as executive producers, despite their recent resignation from the company. Last year, we learned that the movie would star male Shepard in the lead, but that BioWare would allow plot and character changes as needed.

After the awfully botched game ending, I'm not sure I wanna watch a Mass Effect movie.

Unless they make it not about the main game story. Lots of other places to explore.

We already know how the movie will go and it will be a trilogy. The first movie Shepard will be stuck on the Citadel for 6 hours, moving aimlessly from one objective to the next . :P

Will half of the movie be driving the Mako and looking for items?

Half of the movie will be Shepard running around his ship talking to crew mates and crouching down in front of the female ones to stare at their crotches.
